After the successful reception of the Wrangler 4xe, Jeep provided consumers with another option and brought out the Grand Cherokee 4xe for the 2022 model year. Using the same powertrain, the Grand Cherokee 4xe also accomplishes 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, like the Wrangler. However, the fuel efficiency numbers are slightly higher, providing 56 MPGe, 25 miles of all-electric driving, and a total driving range of 470 miles. Additionally, the Grand Cherokee 4xe comes with impressive 4x4 capability with the Quadra-Trac 4x4 systems. Standard equipment is Quadra-Trac I, providing optimal traction by sending 52% of torque to the rear wheels and the remaining 48% to the front wheels for superior full-time traction. Meanwhile, the Quadra-Trac II is optional for some trims while standard on the Trailhawk, Summit, and Summit Reserve. While Quadra-Trac I employs a single-speed transfer case, Quadra-Trac II uses one with two speeds. This means that while Quadra-Trac I operates in 4-High at all times, Quadra-Trac II offers a 4-Low and 4-High drive mode. Quadra-Trac II is also constantly reading road conditions and making adjustments to the torque distribution to counteract a loss of traction automatically, without any driver intervention. In fact, up to 100% of available torque can be sent to the axle that has the most traction. Of course, drivers can also manually switch between 4-High and 4-Low.

Jeep has joined the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 plan for an electric future. In following that plan, Jeep has stated that the 4xe powertrain will be available for the entire Jeep lineup by the 2025 model year. Additionally, they've revealed two all-electric models. The Wagoneer S was also revealed, extending Jeep's luxury SUV arm into the electric SUV market.
