What powertrain configurations enhance the Wrangler's capability?

Under the hood of each Jeep Wrangler is a powertrain that will fuel the SUVs capabilities, whether you are looking for a daily commute, or to push through the toughest terrain, Jeep has you covered. Coming standard across all trim models is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that can output up to 285 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque potential. With this same engine, Jeep offers an optional eight-speed automatic transmission that comes standard on the other powertrains. If you are looking for some extra torque, the 2020 Wrangler comes with an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged Inline-4 engine that can produce 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This 4-cylinder engine comes with a boosted fuel economy as well, being rated with a combined 23 mpg. Due to popular demand, Jeep brings back the optional 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine back into the fold with this Wrangler. This engine pushes out the best in capability, offering a solid 260 horsepower and immense 442 lb-ft of torque potential. When properly configured, the Wrangler is also fully capable of hauling up to 3,500 lbs of trailer capacity, on top of interior storage! The real capability comes in from Jeep's legendary 4x4 systems, that have active torque distribution to best establish grip and maintain traction in difficult terrain and weather conditions.

How are the features spread through the trim models?

The Wrangler keeps its bold presence on and off the road, with the iconic round headlamps and vertically slotted grille that flows into the box form the Wrangler is known for. The configuration of the Wrangler starts with the chassis, with an option between a two and four-door configuration that comes with an additional trim model option (Sahara). Starting with the Wrangler Sport, Jeep brings in a base set of features that are included with each other model; with the base Sport trim you will see features included such as removable doors and fold-down front windshield, fog lamps, underbody skid plates, 17-inch wheels toting all-season tires, convenient tow hooks in the front and rear, ambient LED interior lighting elements, keyless ignition with a push-button start, and a full Uconnect multimedia system including eight speakers, 5-inch touchscreen, USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Sport S trim level further builds onto this feature list, bringing in tinted rear windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, powered windows, automatic headlights, air conditioning, and more. The Sahara trim is exclusive to the four-door cabin and adds eTorque assist to most of the engines to enhance the fuel economy while also offering convenient side-steps, 18-inch wheels for higher ground clearance and performance, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and a universal garage door opener. The Rubicon trim level is the best Jeep has to offer, further pushing the Wrangler's capabilities with a 4.10:1 axel ratio with Dana 44 heavy-duty solid rear and front axels, a Tru-Lok front and rear locking differential with electronically-controlled sway bar disconnect, and a Rock-Trac transfer case with low-gear ratio for better performance off-road.

What safety features are brought in with the 2020 Wrangler?

Jeep works hard to integrate modern technology to enhance both the capabilities and safety of the 2020 Wrangler. The infrastructure of the cabin starts with advanced multistage front airbags, that also bring in supplemental airbags that spread through the interior. Coming standard across all trim models are safety features including tire-pressure monitoring, a rearview camera with dynamic gridlines, antilock brakes that work with hydraulic assist braking, electronic roll mitigation hill start assist with optional hill-descent control, and an electronic stability control system that incorporates traction control support. We also see other features work in at higher trim models or as optional packages such as blind-spot monitoring, automatic headlights, trailer-sway control, a vehicle theft alarm, and a rear park assist system.
